I think that's a good guess by old tech. Do a fuel pressure test and when you turn the engine off, see if the fuel pressure stays up or slowly drains off. I've been driving Suzukis since 1989 and the ECU is the very last part of the car I'd suspect, they're rock solid. Seen a lot of electrical problems caused by poor connections between two wiring harnesses or a wiring harness and a component, but I've never seen a bad circuit board.
