Re: My Dealer-less TPMS Tire Change Story

Hey guys, quick update. I finally was able to nail the learning process. I realized that the presses have to be done fast, meaning the first press on the door switch has to happen almost immediately after turning IGN ON (Run) So yes I got the learning process done. I am however, still unable to prog...

Re: My Dealer-less TPMS Tire Change Story

Hey guys, Thanks for the help. No clutch depressed, that would start the car ;) Didn't try yesterday, but I was checking the service manual today and the learning procedure listed on the manual says: 1) All doors closed, car in OFF 2) Open driver door 3) With ign switch in ON, press door switch for ...

Re: My Dealer-less TPMS Tire Change Story

Still unsuccessful at putting it into learning mode. This is what I am doing: 1) Open driver door, get into car, have fob in pocket 2) Close driver door, parking brake engaged, shifter in 1st gear (this is a MT car) 3) Press start button twice to get it into RUN (ON) without pressing the brake. 4) O...

Re: Replacment brakes

I replaced my original pads and rotors at aprox 50k miles. For replacement I go the wearever platinum semi-ceramics (advance auto parts) Supposedly they were as good as the Akebono OEM, but that is not true. They are very quiet, very low dust, but they don't have the stopping power of the original A...

Re: My Dealer-less TPMS Tire Change Story

Wow, interesting tread, I think I struck gold. I just changed tires on new rims with new sensors yesterday, and I tried to put the car in learning mode, I was unsuccessful after a lot of tries with a lot of different combination based on everything I have found on the web. I still drove it and event...

Re: Fuel Economy - manual transmission

I should have mentioned that I also changed the rims to a light weight model at the same time as the tyre size increase. So, overall I think the total weight was 0.5kg less with the new wheel/ tyre package per wheel compared to the factory wheel. That probably has a beneficial effect -given I do a ...

Re: Fuel Economy - manual transmission

Mine is also too optimistic on the MPG estimate. I have found it to be as high as 3.2 mpg higher than what the simple division of miles / gallons indicates, most of the times 2.1 mpg higher. A big factor also in the fuel economy is the tires . I changed tires fairly recently and I saw my fuel econom...

Re: What Would You Pay for a New 2013?

New Kizashis? Where? Does any dealer still have stock? There's plenty of dealerships that are holding onto them and trying to sell them at sticker. They don't realize they're going to lose either way--lose some right now, or lose even more in a few weeks since it will be 2014. The time to pounce on...
