Re: Driving up hills

:D Drove our SLS through both Washington and Oregon mountains on vacation in November (back highways). We do have some REAL mountains (Mt. Rainer, 14,000+ feet) and the car preformed great. Used manual on both steep up and down hill, with very little foot brake. Transmission, CVT, outstanding. Used ...

Re: Windshield Wiper Blades

Just as a note of information, Suzuki sells the refills for the factory blades. A little pricy however. About $21 for the drive side and $19 for the passager side.

Re: Annoying lock thing

Well, when you old, 76, it's not hard to lock your keys in the car, however Suzuki solved that problem for us elderly! LOL

Re: service campaign received in mail

 Stopped by the dealer on Wedesday and they offered to install the new tensioner on our 2010 SLS with a build date of October 2009. He checked and the VIN number was part of the recall. Took about an hour and they preformed a maintenance check on the complete car while they had it in. We have ...

Re: What floor mat do you guys use?

I purchased a set made by Michelin (The Tire Company) that are winter type and fit the front very well. I did not purchase the set for the rear because there is never anyone back there. Sears had them on sale about 6 months ago. They had been $97.00 for the front and they sold them for $35.00. They ...

Re: No SLS with Manual Trans?

Attended a Suzika meeting today where a rep. from the home office was in attendance. I ask him if there was available a 2011 SLS with manual transmission and he informed me it was not, maybe next year with a turbo charger.

Re: Alignment and rapid tire wear issue.

Well, we just turned 10k miles so I desided to rotate the tires and check on everthing. Measured all 4 tires for uneven wear. The following measurements were taken. All 4 tires tread are identical: outside groove 7/32"; inside groove 7/32" center groove 8/32". Break pads thickness = f...

Re: Alignment and rapid tire wear issue.

We have #82 in the Silver SLS and have encountered no problems at all. I checked the tire wear at 9.5k miles and they are all even accross the tread. Hopefully, the car will stay this way. I am over picky with all my cars so if any problems devlop I will post it here and will be at the dealer often....

Re: recommended engine oil manufacturer and viscosity?

:D I have almost 10k miles on my SLS and have been using Mobel 1 and factory filters every 3k miles. No problems and mileage is 23.5 mpg city and 36.0 mpg highway.

Re: Windshield Wiper Blades

I replaced my factory blades with GoodYear blades from Costco for $7.85 per blade and they work great. They are very smooth and do not leave streeks or un-wiped areas. Living in the Pacific Northwest in the winter, you need GOOD wipers. We have 35 to 40 inches of rain a year but very little snow. Je...
