I encounted a very simular rattle that appeared to be coming from inside the dash on the passenger side. My tech. opened up the dash and found the radio bumping a brace. Those two small red lights are basicly so you can see the upper dash where the CD slot is located. If you lower the white dash lights to a very low level then the overhead red LED's work better.
