Re: Am I really that dumb? Kizashi in "lifetime" channel

You can have your man card back since you said women driving a Kizzy is a turn on ;) But - but - but - you call yourself a "gal" ! On a serious note, I see your location is Colorado. Have you stayed with the OEM tires? If not, and you have some winter driving experience on others, pleas p...

Re: Am I really that dumb? Kizashi in "lifetime" channel

You are right on the exposure of Suzuki - it is nest to nothing. If number 3 in japan wants to be anywhere over number 20 here - they are going to have to get the bean counters out of controlling their marketing efforts. It looks like since they are not selling many cars, they are not willing to inv...

Re: does the Electronic Stability Control reduce engine perf

I doubt the ESC is tied at all to the performance settings of the engine. The ECS does improve handling at the limits both in wet and dry however, so it would not be a good idea to turn it off. The ONLY time you should turn it off if you are getting bogged down in snowy conditions and/or having trou...

Re: Winter Tires?

I would suggest the Kizashi S formula: 16 inches steel wheels, 215/60R16 tires. This size is quite cheaper than the 215/55R17 of the 2010 SE, and much cheaper than the 235/45R18. Grab a set of TPMS sensors. To be honest, I was quite pleased with the behavior of the Dunlop SP Sport 7000 (V rated) in...

Re: Winter Tires?

if u are going with winter tires, its much better to go for a separate set of rims (even if they are steelies), this will save your alloys from the snow/salt, and save them from accidental damage during the installation or removal of the tires. currently i am using a set of michelin x-ice, from my ...

Re: Winter Tires?

Except in maybe the panhandle, discussions of winter tires in Texas would not be expected to happen any time of the year. I had swapped out the stock Dunlops for Conti Extreme DWS - which turned out to be worse in snow - so don't go there. If you are going to separate wheels - you have a lot of choi...

Re: Just Completed Performance Upgrades

I have turned 43,000 trouble free miles on my Kizashi S which contains the above mentioned modifications. The performance appears to have remained the same. I completed a tire tread depth on the rear units and find that I have used 6/32nd " of rubber. Consequently exceeding 60,000 miles on the...

Re: Is it the CVT or a regulator setting that causes the lag

The Kizashi is my first automatic, even my rock crawler has a manual. If you don't want to be shown up as an idiot, then don't make ridiculous blanket statements like "Automatics never have and never will have the the launch capabilities of a manual". I don't rewrite everything you say, o...

Re: MPG?

Anyone see 40 mpg? The closest was one post at 37, but most have been in the teens-twenties around town and upper 20'2 low 30's highway.

I got only 30 on a long interstate drive (but at 70-75 mph). At lower speeds (65 - with slightly higher then listed pressures), I have squeezed out about 33.

Re: Kizashi intake

Oh darn - is western NC close enough ? Or, do you know of a test facility in NC that could run them for you?

Will be interested in the result of the testing, and if it helps with the design of a unit whose benefits are verified with tests - would be very interested in it.
