Based on my personal tests and calculations, I ran my first tank in AWD and got about 22.5 MPG, the second tank in FWD got about 22.8 MPG - both a mix of Highway and City, using 87 Octane. the on board MPG calculator was fairly close to these both times.

I am currently getting 23.4 in AWD with CVT on a mixed route. It tended to be around 22 in the winter.

I'm in about the same range with pretty much all city driving. Looking, any update on your mileage?

I am on my second tank now...

1st tank from the dealer = 20.5 mostly city driving it is an SE CVT AWD (AWD off). My computer readout was right around 19.9 or so?

2nd tank I am only halfway through, but there is more hwy miles on this tank. I will report back.

I am really hoping to get better than 20-21mpg. I was getting 19.5 in my V6 Ford 500 and my driving habits are about the same so far. :(

I get 26 town/country. Got 31-32 highway on 2000 mile trip with both regular and ethanol blend (some place could not find gas without).

Now if I believe the on board computer I am getting 38+mpg while in 6th gear on flat freeway traveling about 70mph for over a 20 mile distance. My first real tank of gas (reset the average mpg before I pulled out) I got 34.7mpg on the computer and after filling the tank, about 10.5 gallons, I calculated it to be about 33mpg real world. I drove 80% freeway over a 6 day period. Not bad, but I have to admit I was intentionally driving to get the highest mpg on the readout. I rarely made it over 4000rpms.

On a side note my miles until empty seems to be really conservative. 2 times now it has listed me at less than 50 miles remaining and yet when I fill up it only takes less than 11 gallons. Knowing we have a 16+ gallon tank I would guess I should have more than 50 miles left on the remaining 5 gallons. Just sayin...

@ KizzyOHIO :) I like what you have done with the front end of your car... It looks a lot more like the concept.

Jimmerz:
Keep in mind that it takes a few thousand miles before you car starts to break in. If you are only on your second tank of gas I wouldn't worry about anything. The SX4 did the same thing.

Thanks! When I saw the frontend close up and the pre-existing indentions for the blacked out grill I knew I had to buy it and paint it.

I've been very close to E a few times and never put in more than 12 gallons.
