Snowed the last few days; the Kumhos worked fine.
But it was only 29F.....

Got another tank to return 29.0 MPG; Gulf premium.
Front tires are just beginning to show a bit of outside shoulder wear, no doubt from jamming them into corners.
The transmission whine has lessened slightly, but still ever-present.

Brakes still biting, gas still mashing.......

Literally, as I turned into work this morning my odo flipped to 30,900 miles.
Just thought it was cool....

Gas mileage is whatever I deserve

I still hate them heavy feet. Spoke with the TireRack yesterday and am now considering the 17X7" options instead of the 17X8".
I'm just gonna hafta put up with the stockies until I'm ready to mount snows (still undecided about tire size).

All in all, WAY better than I anticipated. I'm still exploring the handling, but it sticks so well I find it difficult to justify the apparently insane speeds on public roads, even my little-traveled choices. 40 MPH corners feel like I can enter at 80 and exit fully floored (ask me how I know  ).
The front Kumhos are starting to round out a bit on their edges but haven't turned greasy at all.
The fat tires let me use the brakes better than the S's 215/60s ever did, so I can carry stupid entry speeds before dumping some velocity with a big stomp of brake then get the thing aimed so I can mash the gas for exit.
Oh so much fun.

"Supple"; it feels supple, yet completely anchored to the pavement.

Limit-exploration continues........ :drive:

You need to set some Bridgestone re760s for your next summer tire. I guarantee you that you will feel even more ridiculous speed diving into corners. :o   :drive:

Only picky in that they all have to be the same size. I shrank down to a 205 (or 215?) for our winter set and the whole car is lowered two inches, but still works fine.
golftango wrote:But 87/89/93 all goes into the same tanks ;)
This is incorrect. The lowest and highest grade have their own tank. The mid-grade is created or 'blended' on the fly. Water can be much different in the different tanks, but most tanks have a high water level sensor.

I found info on programming my soon-new TPMS sensors, rear shock fixin', and wheel/tire/brakes discussions that add to my knowledge base, and help me make better-informed decisions.

So thanks, all.

I printed out a crap-ton of K-stuff today.
You're welcome! The tpms should program without a hitch. 8-) And if not, give me a shout.

REALLY enjoying the GTS. I'm spending most of my time (so far) on paved roads, relishing in the huge stick, the easily-accessible corner-exit thrust, and the strong whoa.
Many of our roads serpentine through the elevations, and it's marvelous to wind down the road in rhythm with its meanderings.
It's especially beautiful in the fall under an umbrella of glorious colors.

Fast; did I mention I go fast?
