I can give that a shot. Which one did you go to? I can give them and Discount Tire Direct a call, and see if they can be more productive.

Discount tire in Highlands Ranch, CO 303-791-5043 or better yet have the manager of your store call Tyler H. Who is the manager at the Highlands ranch store. Tyler can provide instructions to your store on who to call and how to order. He got my wrg3's ordered in 10 minutes and arrived in 3 days.

So I called Highlands Ranch, and like yoshi described, they had Nokia on the horn, and could get some WRG3's ordered in about 10 min. So I called Kirk at the Discount Tires in my area, and he said the reason he's having so much trouble getting a hold of them is that all the Discount tires in my area are restricted to which inventory they can acquire. Apparently, the Discount Tire stores in the Kansas/Missouri/Nebraska areas are part of a recent expansion and are not allowed to stock Nokians. The Highlands Ranch location is in a different region, so I guess that's why they can order Nokian tires. I guess I could try to call Discount Tires Corporate HQ, and see if there's any loopholes or exceptions I can exploit. So the next closest location that sells Nokian Tires that ISN'T affiliated with Discount tires is this little chain of car shops near Columbia, MO, about 2 hours away from where I live. :(

Well, Kirk (Kurt?) said he was looking into finding an alternate source to procure the tires, but he was having a lot of difficulty chasing them down. He sounded a little irritable when I called him back this afternoon, so we'll see if comes up with anything, or if he just kind of lets my order slide out of spite.

KansasKid. Simpletire.com selling each tire for $200.99. Buy it from them and just get it installed. I can't believe that the discount tire stores in your area are under some sort of restriction to carry nokian tires its so absurd. Anyway your persistence is amazing! Wrg3's are totally worth it for sure.

So I've been offline for a couple days in deep contemplations with myself over this dilemma. I was going to just order a set of WR G3's from online like yoshi2012 suggested, but when I went back to check both simple tire (set of 225/45/R18's) and ebay (set of 245/45/R18's), I was shocked to find out the prices had gone up for both sites; simple tire went up to $206, and eBay went up to $949 (approx. $237/tire). I was going to bite the bullet, and just get the 245/45R18's from eBay because of cheaper shipping, and I could pay for them interest free for 12 months with PayPal Credit.

Then while I was searching around for a location to install the tires I was planning on shipping, I stumbled upon this deal that I mentioned in the Best Tires thread. Long story short, I'm getting a set Michelin Sport A/S 3's now.

Thanks again to yoshi2012 for helping me out so much over the past couple weeks. He helped me learn a lot about Nokian tires and tires in general. I wish I would have been able to use all his help to get a set of WR G3's. Hopefully, by the time my next set of tires wear out, Nokian/Discount Tires will have a more established footprint in the KC area and I'll actually be able to get ahold of some WR G4's.

Hey Kansas, definitely do what's best for your situation. I had the Michelin sport a\s 3 on my top 5 but I eliminated it due to its reviews on how unreliable it is in winter according to tire rack survey and the videos too. I guess its hit or miss with USA made all seasons.

Been nothing but 50-60 degree weather here in Colorado and the tires have performed beatifully. The notion that Nokian are only good for winter time is now a dead argument for me. These handle like a high performance summer tire all while giving me peace of mind that the tires can handle the cold harsh weather conditions that are coming soon.

Does that warranty cover tread wear? Winter tires are supposed to have softer rubber than all season at warmer temps. They should wear out faster than an all season tire if you run them all year.
