Winter Tires?

Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

xice3's or Altimax? Which would you choose in 215/60/16 or 215/65/16?
Is 215/60R16 the stock size for your model Kizashi? If so, stick with that.

I have the SLS sport, so it's 235/45/18--no way I'm buying snow tires for that.

The Altimax is only available in 215/65/16, while the xice3's are 215/60/16. Both will fit fine according to:

I'm just wondering if people had a choice, what they would choose based on their experience with both tires. It snowed again here today and picking up my wife from work was quite scary at times. I don't want to fear the snow anymore.

See if this link works: http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Siz ... /215-65R16

If it doesn't go here and plug all the sizes in : http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator

215/60 is 4mm smaller in diameter, 215/65 is about 17mm larger diameter.

BTW both are available in 215/60 and 215/65R16:

http://www.generaltire.com/tires/winter ... ctic#Specs

There's also 225/60R16 which is around 8mm larger diameter - available in both as well.

Wow! Great research! If both are available in 215/60r16, then I'll go with that size. 8-)

Now, the question is--which tire? :?:

If you use different tire size, the tire pressure may be different, then will the TPMS sensors fit it?

I've no idea about the brands and models, but I'd go with the taller tire for winter use. The Kizashi is pretty low, height always helps in the snow. Plus you'll get better mileage.

Having used two sets of the General on my K, I most highly recommend the Continental ExtremeWinterContact for maximum performance driving.

If maximum traction is your goal (slower driving style) I most highly recommend the Bridgestone Blizzak.

I suggest one at least look here: www.tirebuyer.com

For those who may not recognize "Vermont", think "Finland with more hills".

It's -11F outside right now.

I checked out tirebuyer and they carry a lot of the brands that I have not found on tirerack. :)

But I still don't see the stellar reviews on the continentals vs the generals, on either site. Is there something about the Kizashi that favors the continentals?

It's ability to gather speed?

When in doubt buy Blizzaks; they really are that good.
