Welcome to the forums. To be honest, I would just print that and use it to wipe my behind.

Remember, KBB / Edmunds are just guidelines based on estimate assessments. In the end, the market forces dictate the prices, and if you don't mind scrolling trough craiglist, ebay motors, and specially, autotrader; if you find me a used SLS for $13k, I'll buy it on the spot and give you $1K as finder's fee

I was, in fact, surprised at seeing how high the used Kizashis are listed. Barely a discount from a great price when new.

I have to agree...I just found it a pretty odd estimate of worth based on depreciation and wholly unrealistic..it surprised me coming from KBB. What really seems goofy is that they cook up this estimate, when on their own site, you cannot even look up 2011 used car prices on the Kishazi, but they post depreciation values?

I would not have been surprised if these estimates were for some other forgettable Suzukis of the days of yore, but they are in no way consistent with the Kizashi resale prices I have seen. Our 2002 XL-7 4WD might have had a similar depreciation schedule, but I'll take the real thing (still looking shiny new at 101,000 miles purchased new for $23,000 and not a dollar spent outside of warranty repairs and regular maintenance). Indeed, ironically, our second 2002 XL-7 FWD purchased in 2006 for $7,500 may even have had some positive appreciation. Also shiny new looking (including the exhaust). Pretty stunning. So damn the KBB and full-speed ahead!

Remember also that the 7-year 100,000 mile power train (policy started in mid 2002) and 3-year bumper to bumper warranties help to intercept problems and create a substantial incentive for better owner care. The idea that a Kizashi within the warranty period is going to sell for anything less than $7,000 is just ludicrous. To the extent that KBB is going off of historical data it cannot be trusted.

That is total BS. I have been shopping for a used kizashi, and they are going for the same price as new ones.

I haven't found an AWD one for less than 19K

Agreed. I have been using Edmunds data for all of my car purchases and sales for several years now. Good realistic data.

Who paid $27K? The highest marked up model is probably worst case scenario for depreciation. Unless things change, mine is going to try the 7/100 mark before I sell it. Not even 10K the first year. I travel and have two other cars.

Fantastic car, horrible model name, brand baggage and a dearth of dealers. I would sell mine quick if the local dealer goes away.
