Has anybody ever tried chevron techron? I'm desperate with my unsmooth engine.

There are a number of versions, the only one that's worth a damn is the purest, highest priced one.

I have had the best luck with Seafoam in my 4Runner. It really helps smooth it out

What's wrong with your engine? It's unsmooth? At idle or all the time?
Did you check your PCV valve? Check the condition of the spark plugs?
As tc suggested, try using seafoam if things don't get better. Run it through the intake and also put it into your gas.
I would do half the can through the intake and the remaining half into the gas tank with a full tank of gas.

It only has 5k miles on it but since 2k it started to exhibit harsh chasis vibration on acceleration from stop (even with light throttle). The vibration is so bad that it causes the center arm piece to make a loud resonating sound, even without items in it. This is worse when engine is on strain like going uphill. But recently it has brcome more intermittent. Coincidentally unable to duplicate at suzuki shops when I bring in, twice in row.

Also feel increased vibration when foot on throttle but when keeping rpm low <2K, or on acceleration from start but suddenly feel engine unsmoothness/vibration after rpm declines down to <2K, almost as if when the gear switches to CVT 5. Causes similar chasis vibration but most obvious at center arm piece. Was able to duplicate this but shop says this is trim issue but not engine and will be difficult to pinpoint till things get worse.

Overall it makes me want to get ride of this car. It also is only getting 19 mpg in city. Any time with light foot on throttle the mpg drops. On highway without stop i get up to 34mpg though.

Chevron did not help much with mpg. But now i noticed the start-off acceleration is less constant and more intermittent. Low rpm vibration persists. Other issues include annoying rattles here n there

My 2005 impreza was flaw proof. Made as if its one part without any hinge or rattle. But without any of the cool functions my kizashi has.

sorry to hear you have such trouble with a new car.
I test drove a CVT tranny car & it seemed a little rough idling, but that went away as I drove off. Maybe it has something to do w/ the tranny?
Seafoam works well for gummed up injectors/ throttle, but I doubt that's the trouble w/ just 5K under your belt

I had a problem that may be the same problem you have. Short version was that the two cables that go to the EVAP Emissions Purge Control Valve (PCV) were damaged internally (apparently came like this from factory). Cables were replaced, the Check engine code went off and no more problems. Most of the harshness came in when accelerating lightly and when under or around 2000rpm. When stepping on the accelerator or when above 2500rpm the engine was smooth.

Can you elaborate? Your check engine light was on? Since purchase or after the harshness started? Did you have vibration? What is your car model? US? The replacement solved your problem and now no more vibration? Thank you,

What are the rpms doing during the vibration, climbing steady, stumbling, .etc? Also, does it happen in a consistent rpm range? If you aren't getting a CEL and the rpms are climbing consistently with throttle position then I would look for something loose underneath the car. The shift points on my cvt are lower than most autos that I have driven and a lower rpm (below 1500) will cause vibration.

Try burning at least forty gallons of Mobil premium (Chevron supplies Exxon/Mobil its cleaning additives).

You are not going to solve this issue with Techron or any other additive IMO. Techron cleans fuel varnish deposits, you will not have this issue at 5K miles and 1~year of driving.

You need to take your vehicle to the dealer and demonstrate the vibration to the service adviser. Your car is under warranty, so if there is a problem it will be fixed for free.
