Perhaps they consider it's dead already (nothing salvageable) and if it totally fails they don't care? They'll just fit a new CVT when you come in.
PS: Make sure you don't travel anywhere that doesn't have mobile phone coverage!
Here's a quick update. I'm a few days shy of my service appointment and the characteristics of the transmission has changed considerably. When stone cold, the car drives ok. After a few short minutes, when the CVT belt tenses under acceleration between pullies, the transmission shudders extremely hard. If I am traveling up hills, the car shakes violently and feels as if the tires are going to fall off. On Friday as I was driving home coming off the freeway, the transmission shuddered so violently I had to grasp the steering wheel so tight with both hands so the car wouldn't shake itself off the road. Crazy that these little episodes are happening. Another worth while thing noting is that if the car is say parked on a steep driveway and you need to back out, the transmission bucks, clunks and the car will jerk it's way backwards. It looks like the CVT is completely shot but still transporting me to and from work. I still find it absolutely amazing that Suzuki Canada says to continue driving the car despite what I have told them. I'll make sure I take a tech out for an extended drive with me come this Thursday.
Okay. Today the car went in for the 45k service, road tested with a tech and he confirmed all the issues with the transmission operation. They took the pan off and found the fluid to look like milk. New transmission was ordered and should be at the dealer within a week.

OK, so what's in the fluid that turned it to milk and how did it get in there? Putting in a new trans w/o knowing the cause of this may be a futile, expensive, effort.
