Re: Kizashi Recall (Shifting out of Park issue for Automatic
My dealer did the recall work today. They had the Kizzie from 08:00 to 13:00. (I don't know, of course, how long the actual work took). Maybe it's my imagination, but it seems to me that moving the shift lever into "Park" encounters a bit of resistance at the end of the movement. I am happ...

Re: Warning about the Kizashi's Roof Rack Mounting Surface
3 questions about the bolts used to attach your roof racks, gentlefolks. 1. What size bolt e.g. "M4" were those %$#@ Allen screws used to attach the Whispbars? 2. Any torque figure for tightening? 3. Pros and cons of using e.g. Loctite, to prevent vibration loosening them, and maybe rust-s...

Re: Tow Bar
I have a Curt trailer hitch or towbar on my black Kizashi (2011 CVT 2WD). Before buying the hitch, I downloaded the installation instructions from the Curt website, to get an idea not only of installation, but also of appearance. Those excellent instructions show the appearance of the thing in one p...

Re: splash guards
Hope it's OK to update this older topic. Thinking of getting splash guards A.K.A mud guards, I was studying the Installation Instructions posted by "SX4toKizashi" on June 28, 2010. Question to any and all who have done this: is it correct that ALL holes are drilled into plastic only, namel...

Re: If U Cannot Shift CVT Gearshift Lever Out Of Park
Finally got a "warm" enough day to try removing the little cover on the button. Just as KuroNekko advised, a screwdriver tip with a thin wrap did the trick. I could see where I'd push the button with screwdriver or key, if it were an emergency. (It wasn't an emergency, I just wanted to be ...

If U Cannot Shift CVT Gearshift Lever Out Of Park
On page 3-19 of the Owner's manual for my 2011 Kizzie, there are instructions for doing what I hope I never have to do, which is getting CVT out of Park when "electrically operated park-lock feature" doesn't work. The manual says to remove the cover over the button: BUT IT DOESN'T SAY HOW....

Re: Rusty Lug Nuts
I too have some rust, but I think it is my own fault. The first time I changed between winter and summer wheels, after tightening the nuts with the lug wrench supplied with the car (2011 S) I used a 3/4 inch socket on my torque wrench. I'm pretty sure I should have used a 19 mm socket, which is a ha...

Re: Australian Kizashi
There are a couple of Kizashi's around my area (South of Brisbane)... I probably see 1 or 2 a week. I only really tow a box trailer, and even then it's only on the rare occasion. I normally take the tongue off when I'm not towing. Cheers Paul (Pennywise) Great photos, Paul. Was wondering how towbar...

Strange Fix For Signal Light Problem
Toady while returning home after getting the windshield replaced (rock thrown up by a truck cracked it beyond repair), I noticed that my turn signal lights weren't working, in that no flashing green arrows appeared when I moved the lever. I got home still muttering to myself about careless installer...

Re: Towing?
Hmmm, quite possibly. However I did not understand from my (Canadian) Owner's Manual that it was specifically CVT models for which towing was a no-no, nor was transmission type mentioned in the context of towing. Best wishes!
