Re: Saying goodbye...

Oops...see what happens? Anyway, the little Venue will work just fine for us. Also, we plan to be out of the "great white north" for the worst of the winter from now on...can't take the cold anymore. Y'all take care...

Re: Saying goodbye...

Believe it or not...a Hyundai Venue. It is a small little rig but more than meets our needs ( only 2 of us typically). I had an occasion to drive one and was impressed. Despite it's size, it is quite roomy and airy...with just enough height to make it super easy to get in and out (my old bones and m...

Saying goodbye...

The time has come. I sold my beloved Kizashi this morning. I recently broke down and bought a new car. The Kizashi was still running great but I hav been more concerned each year due to it's age and "orphan" status. Without a doubt this is the best car I've ever owned in every way...comfor...

Re: Overheated!

Done and done...both the thermostat and radiator cap have been replaced (plus a gallon of new antifreeze to freshen it up a little). Both are oem units and while a little pricey I prefer to not take any chances. The warmup time does seem to be a little faster and the temperature gauge is reading a l...

Re: Overheated!

This is interesting as I am bringing my 2010 (108k miles) in to my mechanic to have the thermostat replaced on Monday. I had the coolant replaced at 90k miles and haven't had any issues but noticed during the worst of the winter last year (temps in single digits to below zero) the engine was taking ...

Re: Thoughts on trans fluid at 60k?

I have serviced the cvt on my 2010 at 60k and again at 95k. I'm now at 106k and all is well. I did 2 back-to-back drain and fills at 60k and just a single drain and fill at 95k. I also threw caution to the wind and used Redline cvt fluid (high quality synthetic) which seems to work just fine. I beli...

Re: Kizashi CVT fluid

I changed out my fluid at 60k and 95k on my 2010...did it in my garage and didn't have a scan tool. The first was 2 drain and fills and the second time was just one drain and fill along with replacing the external filter. I used Redline CVT fluid each time and added 10 oz. of Lubegard CVT additive (...

Re: Highest mileage

Miy 2010 awd has become a "garage queen" with 105k miles (original cvt...fingers crossed). My daily is a 2003 Camry with 95k original miles. The Camry is a great car but sure doesn't drive or handle like the Kizasshi. I took the Kizashi out for a drive yesterday, washed it and put it back ...

103k on original rear shocks...

Hi all...believe it or not, I still have the original shock assembly on my 2010 SE AWD. There is an occasional thump or squeak from the rear over certain bumps but the shocks don't appear to be leaking. As I've decided to keep the old gal going for awhile, I figured I will change them out. I have re...

Re: have I made a mistake

2010 AWD SE here...just rolled 73k miles. I've only had 2 issues with the car...a front seal leak (Suzuki split the cost with me as I chose to have it repaired by a local shop rather than drive it 200+ miles to the closest dealership) and a failed heater blower fan motor (and subsequent failure of t...
