Re: Kizashi comfort
Thank you, Woodie. Honestly, yes, it began feeling like I had to defend myself to why I chose this system. I was just trying to share some info about what options are out there. Yes... The price was a bit hefty, but I was prepared for it. The system without the "Link" would have been cheap...

Re: My new ride!
I don't mind spending some extra on it. I plan to keep the car for some time.

Re: Automatic lights.
2017-05-13-01-43-19.jpg Update on this. I don't know where I got "auto" from. The arm clearly reads off. Bad lighting to take light pictures. Took with the switch off, low beam is on. Park and park/fog. On setting gives the same as off. You are correct, KuroNekko, switching ON, turns the ...

Re: Kizashi comfort
KuroNekko, yeah, it can be like a sauna when you sit into a cooked car.
We don't get SoCal heat here. I guess Australia is kinda warm too
Next time I replace the windshield, I'll put some tint on that as well. Not the whole screen though.
Rear windows are tinted already.

Re: Kizashi comfort
That's what I'm thinking of doing too, next winter. Get something rear wheel drive, that I don't have to care much about. Then scrap it for spring. And repeat.

Re: Kizashi comfort
Woodie, as I already said, I'm a trucker by profession. I get to work, I plug in the car, I work. When I'm on my way home, 200 miles or something, away from the car. I turn the heater(s) on. Then it's warm when I get there to go home. My irregular hours doesen't help with a "normal" socket...

Re: Kizashi comfort
Not really, Woodie. I can't flip the switch when I'm at work, 200 miles away from the car. And it wouldn't help the engine anyway, if I didn't have the heater put into it.

Re: Kizashi comfort
Here are some pictures. I couldn't access anything under the hood. Added the outside plug, with and without the cable connected. The interior fan. I taped a weight on the foot, so it wouldn't tip over when driving. And, the socket for the fan. It's hidden under the glove box. There was a choice to h...

Re: Kizashi comfort
Also, there are built-in systems, which don't need a cable. I'm not sure what they're called there. One name is Webasto. They are used in our trucks as well. I'm a trucker by profession. Spoken to some US truckers and was like "Wtf?" when they told me they have to idle their rigs to get he...

Re: Kizashi comfort
Basically, a heating element and other required components are plugged into the coolant system. Getting the engine warm for start. Releasing less toxic fumes than a completely cold engine. On the picture, when I plug the cable into the car, (I can take a picture when I get back), the app (and car) &...
