Re: Kizashi and Autocrossing

Weeeellll... Tuesday afternoon after spending quite a bit of time reading about tires I decided to say "F It" and ordered a set of 245/40/18 Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R's. Tire Rack had them to my door by Wednesday at 11am (amazing shipping times with that company!) and I got them mounted ...

Re: Kizashi Recall (Shifting out of Park issue for Automatics)

Got my 10th notice for this in the mail yesterday, lol! :drive: Can't fault them for being persistent, I guess. Got my 10th notice last week. I made an appointment to have it done this Saturday. (I guess 10th time's a charm) Actually, my wife has complained twice in as many months that sh...

Re: Kizashi and Autocrossing

Props to the photographer who spent the time to capture those shots. Getting a solid panning shot like that 2nd one takes a lot of skill and timing to do for each car all day long. We are fortunate in the Pittsburgh area to have a few shutterbug hobbyists at autocross events/HPDE's/road racing even...

Re: High beam and fog Lights?

What's the point of the position bulb? I've noticed it before, but never understood its purpose. My son's SX4 has one too.

Re: Kizashi and Autocrossing

I autocrossed my wife's Kizashi a couple years ago, just to try it. Ours is a CVT, so it was seriously handicapped when it came time to put the power down. Your 6-speed will do much better. It is a great handling car, even at the limit. Very light-feeling and toss-able. A fun car no doubt, but it's ...

Re: have I made a mistake

Try left-foot braking and keep a higher entry speed, then get on it early BEFORE it's even straightened out. (Replacing the stock 18" "lightweight" alloy clod-hoppers with 13lb lighter assemblies made a big difference both in acceleration and steering feel; it exits harder.) My Kizas...

Re: have I made a mistake

Welcome! A few of us have experienced the rear brake issue, myself included. Did you do anything to the caliper brackets to prevent the new pads from seizing? Not really, I just cleaned everything with a wire brush and installed the new anti-rattle clips that came with the pads. Now that I know thi...

Re: have I made a mistake

First post here, but we've had our Kizashi for 2 1/2 years now with no issues. I did have to replace the rear brakes at 38k miles, but that seems to be a common issue. (Especially on ones in the salt belt like ours (PA).) The ears of the pads were frozen on the caliper brackets, and wouldn't float. ...
