Had the same thoughts with my TomTom 340 last week. The windscreen is too far away to reach the unit when mounted there, I don't want to damage the dash, so... I just open the console door in front of the gearstick (where the USB is) and rest the unit there - fits nicely. Easy to reach - out of line...

I and some other have had problems with unsupported devices connected to the USB.
I purchased a Sandisk Cruzer 4 GB flash drive, and all good. Fits lots of MP3's.
Around $20.00 price.

Head Unit must only support certain USB drives.

Car handles much better with Guns N Roses

p.s. If you want to clean up the display of MP3's, try "mp3tag".
You can edit the song titles, artist etc.

Yep - They are MP3, I have burned them onto a CD and tried them in the car and works fine.
They display as MP3.
Love the stereo, just need to work out the USB.

I have tried 2 different USB keys and can't get it working.
They both appear OK on my PC as drives, and play MP3's fine, but all I get in the car is USB UNSUPPORTED.

Does the unit only support specific brand USB keys???
