Re: The Heep Morphed in to a CX-5

Re: The Heep Morphed in to a CX-5

Sooo, question for all you safety mongers out there, WHY then are heated side mirrors NOT gov mandated over a lousy, little used, back-up camera? Let me ask my automotive expert representatives. Hell the wife's mid-level model 2011 SX4 has heated side mirrors. Never even thought to concern my...

Re: What Did You Do With Your Kizashi Today?

Just changed the oil and oil filter at 24,000km. Been a mechanic for 39 years, this is the first vehicle I've had to buy an oil filter socket for. Not complaining though, love the Kizashi! You should know it's not the vehicle then, it's how tightly the person before installed it. My previous car wa...

Kia Stinger starting at $25k? Good replacement for Kizashi?

Right now there's a sale on Stingers, up to $12,000 off MSRP. The base has a RWD, 255 HP turbo 4, seats 5, and versatile hatch. Anyone test drove one yet? https://www.cars.com/for-sale/searchresults.action/?mdId=36293408&mkId=20068&page=1&perPage=50&prMx=35000&rd=99999&search...

Currently at 147,000 miles (237,000 km) and still on original CVT fluid. Next oil change will be for 15k oil change interval. I'll be the guinea pig.

Re: OEM Parts Availability

The Kizashi has been very reliable. The only thing I've had to replace that's not normal maintenance was the blower motor as well. Still on my original front pads and discs at 146,000 miles.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Kizashi Today?

I have new tires scheduled to get installed tomorrow. The BF Goodrich Sport Comp 2s lasted just over three years and 20k miles. Aside from exceptional traction in the dry, they were pretty horrible - so loud and harsh that it gave my car a few new interior buzzes. But they handled aggressive corner...

Re: Blower Motor

Pretty easy using a short screwdriver. I replaced mine in 2015. It's located on the passenger side under the glovebox.

DiggerDerrik wrote:122K miles and replaced original brake pads on all 4 corners. I have to say that they probably had another 25-50K left on them. Also rotated tires.
Did you have any problems installing the rear pads & discs? Any special tools?

Re: Sold my Kizzy today

I had 66K miles on her, a 2012 GT. I didn't want to let her go but with a family on the way it was more practical to get an SUV. We bought 2 new SUV's to compensate. A loaded 2017 Mazda CX-5 which is actually a pretty fun car to drive and a 2017 Land Rover Discovery which I've nicknamed "The B...
