Re: My new ride!

Bass12: I did not see any ID for your new ride, but it looks like an SLS with leather heated seats - and a manual transmission. I've been told that Suzuki is not building that combo anymore in 2011. What exactly do you have?

Re: No SLS with Manual Trans?

Good luck with your new Kizashi. Like you, I have no dealers close by (there are NO dealers in Arkansas, only two tiny dealers in Memphis, TN and Shrevport, LA - both 3.5 hours away), so dealer service may be a problem. Please post your service experiences (start a new thread) as time goes on. I can...

Re: Comparative review very positive

Thanks for the link to the review. As you noted, it was very positive. The reviewer did not seem put off by the CVT performance or the availability of only one engine option as has been the concern in many other reviews. He raved about the sporty handling, fit and finish of the interior, the roomine...

Re: New car dealers and tire pressures

I have seen 45+ pounds of tire pressure on several brand new cars. I learned from one dealer that the tires are pumped up high to help with trailering the car to the dealership from the port (foreign) or from the assembly plant (domestic). I don't know the theory behind the need for this high pressu...

Re: ECU Piggy Back

Rock: Please address this question from a few days back. Maybe you missed it since it was in another thread: Rock: I am not a tuner but what I understand about the RRM piggyback ECU is that it re-maps the fuel levels that were originally programmed by Suzuki. The RRM writeup for the piggyback sugges...

Re: what's wrong with this picture?

I can only speak from experience from a Corvette and a Mazda3 each with TPMS, but for both of these cars, the TPMS warning that was triggered by the cold (reducing the air pressure in the tires below the threshold point) could be retired immediately by filling up the tires with more air. There was n...

Re: RRM Kizashi Short Ram Intake

OK, maybe I need new glasses, but I didn't see anything in the short article from Rock's link that seemed to specifically talk about a Kizashi modified with the RRM performance upgrades or compare the upgraded car to a stock Kizashi (there is a photo of a modified Kizashi, but was that the car that ...

Re: No SLS with Manual Trans?

Actually the Buick Regal GS will only be offered with a manual transmission when if first comes out (great news for me). I don't know where the transmission is built, but it will be a 6-speed and is called an F40-6. The car body is a copy of the Opel Insignia (German) with which GM has partnered. Th...

Re: Navigation question

I am not a fan of built-in navigation systems. They are almost always significantly higher in price than an after-market unit, and at least the units I am most familiar with (Toyota) require purchase of a disk to update the software, and the disk updates are about $250 each. Further, on my Toyota, t...

Re: No SLS with Manual Trans?

Sorry to read that your manual SLS was not orderable. I can't understand Suzuki's rationale for this given that they build cars with manual trans in each of the other three models (S, SE, GTS), and that they built several SLS manuals earlier in the 2011 model year. Maybe someone from Suzuki can enli...
