Re: After Kizashi - What New Vehicle?

So I haven't actually seen a Regal in GS trim in person, but it's on my radar! I finally found and test rode in a 2020 Buick GS on a recent trip to Atlanta. There seems to be none west of the Mississippi in the last several months I've been looking, and I live near Seattle. On line forum chatter su...

Re: Kizashi is making a new noise...

Got the Alternator and tensioner replaced. On first start up I still had a slightly different noise which absolutely angered me! The next morning I went out with the stethoscope to figure out what part did me wrong this time, but everything seems all good now! Was that initial noise just some "...

Re: Kizashi is making a new noise...

With the stethoscope, It sure seems to be coming from the Alternator...that thing was just singing! Can also smell something get hot and burning, bearings maybe? I'm going to get a new tensioner too as I know I'm on borrowed time with that as well.

Kizashi is making a new noise...

Not that I expect to diagnose it over the forum, more of a sympathy post I guess :( . 170K mostly trouble fee miles, so it has caused me some alarm. Kind of a whining, whirling noise from the front of the engine...pulleys, water pump, etc. Changes pitch with the RPMs. No other performance symptoms. ...

Re: Cheap fix 18 radiator cap

I just had another one fail on me...I recognized the symptoms this time and got it replaced right away. I have a pressure test kit to help confirm the failed cap and to ensure the new one out of the store is working...I've previously had a couple failing straight off the shelf!

I forgot we even had that feature!

Re: Overheated!

Crazy how the simplest part can cause so much damage. I too had overheating issues and wrote about it a few years ago. My replacement cap off the shelf from an auto parts store was no good! In fact, I ended up using a pressure test kit I previously purchased to test 3 caps before I found one that he...

Re: After Kizashi - What New Vehicle?

I play this game a lot...If my Kizashi were to die today, what would I get? I lean more toward practicality, but if I can have some fun that's a plus! I usually just commute, but my wife and I enjoy long road trips as well. So if there is one thing I might look forward to in our next car, it would b...

Re: What Did You Do With Your Kizashi Today?

Yesterday, a check engine light came on after about 5 seconds of turning on the engine in idle. No oddities in performance but the warning stayed on even after a few starts. I checked the code with my OBDII wifi device and the Dash Command app: P0172 - System Too Rich Bank 1. Research revealed the ...
