Re: 2011 SLS.. I think I need this car in my life.

What year? At 60k miles, I'd give the CVT a really good listen. If it's nice and quiet, especially on a cold start (no whine) then if it was me, I'd buy it. Change the CVT fluid right away and I think you'll be good to go. I've been kicking around the idea of picking up a low mileage SLS if I can f...

Re: Rear Sub Woofer

I think the sub-woofer is the circular gizmo installed on the ceiling of the trunk of the Kizashis that have the Rockford Fosgate audio system. The speaker behind the seats (and under the rear glass if I’m not mistaken) is probably just a speaker. Just an FYI - the RF system does not have any speak...

Re: 2011 SLS.. I think I need this car in my life.

60k is about as low as you’ll probably find these days, but if those were hard miles, the CVT could still give out somewhere under 100k. I think I saw old tech say somewhere here that the shortest CVT lifespan he’s seen or heard of was around 80k. I don’t mean to fear-monger - just trying to be real...

Re: Kizashi second thoughts.. buyer's remorse.

I’m sorry to hear about your situation. Regarding that sound you hear when you use the gas pedal, I think I hear it, too (I have a FWD CVT model); I’ve heard it since I got my car at 51k miles, thought it was weird, but have accepted it. It wasn’t a noise my previous car ever made, but my Kizashi ha...

Re: Front and rear replacement brake pads

I’ve heard of the Kizashi coming with Bosch brake pads from the factory, but more often, or at least in later model years (in the US), they came with Akebono pads. Akebonos aren’t as popular as the ubiquitous Brembos on performance vehicles, but they can be found on a few, like certain Volvo Polesta...

Re: Busted Tachometer Needle Light?

My ‘13 Kizashi has had an iffy tachometer needle light for as long as I can remember in my 2.5 years of ownership. Regardless of what lighting setting I’m at (DRLs, headlights, in between), there’s a chance it’ll be out. I’ll know if I’m in for an unlit tachometer needle if it flickers at startup. I...

Re: How to keep rodents out of engine bay?

My area has coyotes (and bobcats and pumas), so outdoor pets are not advised and stray cats are not a thing around these parts, unfortunately. My family is also not a cat family, for what it’s worth. I’d imagine the coyotes hunt some of the rodents, but they’re probably more interested in the hares ...

Re: Rear Shock Mount Availability

Just keep in mind if these parts are coming from a Japanese warehouse, it might take a long time before they ship, thanks to the pandemic. Or they might be able to be shipped now, but for super high shipping costs. I ordered something from MegaZip and it’s been sitting in the Japanese warehouse for ...

Re: 2010 Suzuki Kizashi Not Getting Any Power

This is random and unlikely to be the case, but maybe check under the hood for rodent damage to the wires?
