Re: New Tires (4th set)

Excellent choice with the AS4s! I'm debating between those or the new Conti DWS06+ for the E90. I'm unlikely to hit either tire's performance ceilings so I'm leaning towards the latter for better NVH (based on TireRack testing: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/chartDisplay.jsp?ttid=280). I’ve h...

Old Tech is somewhere in Pennsylvania, if I recall. So, not as close as someone in NJ, but not as far as it could be, either.

Re: Trunk won't open

I see your point, but I only give the fob to valets and mechanics largely because it's easier and faster than removing the fob key from my key ring. Also, I noticed that some places like my local Costco are now placing the fobs in zip lock bags. It's smart because it keeps the fob securely with the...

Re: New Tires (4th set)

The worn out Falkens were replaced yesterday with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 tires. I shopped around for the same and comparable tires from other shops but couldn't find a price that undercut Costco for total cost (including installation and fees). The Kizashi immediately feels more responsive in c...

Re: Trunk won't open

I’d imagine it’d be easier for a valet or someone to lose the fob if you hand it over without the key with the ring attachment on it. The Kizashi fob is pretty small, and it’s smooth and almost slippery after lots of use. Valets always seem to store fobs by hanging them on a hook in a box. When my K...

Re: After Kizashi - What New Vehicle?

I play this game a lot...If my Kizashi were to die today, what would I get? I lean more toward practicality, but if I can have some fun that's a plus! I usually just commute, but my wife and I enjoy long road trips as well. So if there is one thing I might look forward to in our next car, it would ...

Re: After Kizashi - What New Vehicle?

The 6-speed auto definitely plays a large factor, yes. I think the engine making peak torque 750 revs earlier than the Kizashi's helps, too. Not that I usually rev that hard, lol. The problem with Mazda is they grew up from the Mazdaspeed days, producing the modest, refined turbos... but a lot of th...

Re: New Tires (3rd set)

Do you have a Discount/America's Tire location near you, Kuro? AAA offers $10 off per tire on tires with a high rating, when you buy from those places. I’m sure the Michelins you’re eying qualify. They have the same prices as TireRack, and a decent installation rate. They're also a TR installer. I c...

Re: After Kizashi - What New Vehicle?

It should also be mentioned that the Mazda turbo feels like a diesel in its torque delivery; lots of early torque low in the rev range. It’s not a ballistic missile like how other turbos in the class try to aim for, or the Mazdaspeeds of yore. This results in the turbo Mazdas feeling calmer and more...

Re: After Kizashi - What New Vehicle?

@ Drem: I love the S60, both current gen and last gen. Would have seriously considered a used last gen model as my Kizashi successor if it weren’t for the fact that their reliability isn’t stellar, and their engines require premium fuel. The last gen model is about the size of the Kizashi, and becau...
