Re: inexpensive tire pressure monitors that will work

I think these are authentic VDO tire pressure monitors. I can only guess that there’s a factory in China that would’ve got an order for maybe 20,000 tire pressure monitors and they made 40,000 of them and just sold them out the back door. They probably don’t have to worry about Copyright and other t...

inexpensive tire pressure monitors that will work

The tire pressure monitor system on the Kizashi is very picky on the replacement sensor . While most cars had systems that would allow use of almost any brand sensor , The VDO/ Continental system was purposely made to deter you from that . The copy sensors that are sometimes sold that are supposed t...

Re: Sold my Kiz and thinking of buying another. Good idea or ?

I don’t see a problem with getting used parts. It seems the availability is on the rise. More Kizashi’s hitting junkyards that are dying a more normal death then the transmission failure. As with any collectible car, there does come a time when parts become challenging to get but really, the KIzashi...

Re: Cooling system issues

I would recommend first checking for hydrocarbons in the cooling system. You could probably do this just by sniffing the coolant reserve bottle and if there’s a sharp smell to it that almost hurts your nose then you probably have a head gasket not sealing well. Does this car happen to be at 2010? Th...

Sold my Kiz and thinking of buying another. Good idea or ?

I think going into another Kizashi with low miles or at least in very good shape. It’s a very good idea. You know the car and have all the resources here in the site of information and preemptive repairs to make this a very trustworthy car. Maybe even keeping a few parts on hand such as an ignition ...

Re: Codes P0471 and P0776

I find it very risky to install a used cvt transmission but I guess that is behind us now. Both of these codes have a great deal to do with a pressure loss. I would recommend not to drive this before draining fluid and dropping pan then post a high quality picture of debris on pan floor , pick-up sc...

Re: cvt making sounds

I’m just south of Erie Pennsylvania. Your car will still drive fine with this bearing going and you could drive it out and leave it with me for 2 full work days while you go visit Niagara Falls about an hour and a half away. This will be the cheapest and best, most enjoyable trip I would believe. Sen...

Re: cvt making sounds

Yes I have . From what you describe Im pretty sure you have one of the bearings on the small transfer shaft. The cause of this failure is the bearing preload was set too tight from the factory. The preload must be checked after bearing is replaced. Trans must come out for this repair. I would highly...
