these DRLs are meant as addition to existing lights so they turn on if the lights are off and they automatically turn off if the lights come one - works perfectly with the 'auto' lights setting.
I can't imagine how exactly they could be the random current draw because, the rpm fluctuation happens regardless of whether they are on (and lights off) or vice versa. Also, the LEDs will draw only a couple of watts, it shouldn't be even felt at all.

Ahh, I thought these were replacing the factory DRLs. Hmmm...
If it's easy to do, disconnect these DRLs and see what happens.
