Hey guys,
So I wanted to take the amplifier out...and was wondering if anyone else has done this yet. I wanted to get access to the dials (if there are any on there) so far I got the trunk torn apart, and access to the bracket the main issue i'm having is actually unhooking the two harness' plugged into the amp. They must have some pretty good safety tabs on them because it seems like a lot of work instead of just the traditional pinch tabs together and pull. Any help would be nice. I was debating of calling rockford themselves and asking for assistance which in the end they may recommend I take it to a dealership but would it be smarter to have someone who works on audio systems instead look at it or go with a dealer who used to sell their cars (since we don't have them anymore in America)? The dealer said it would be $45 dollars alone just to look at it. Thanks
Rockford fosgate amplifier removal
I'm not familiar with the harness for the amp, but some others on the car are pretty hard to remove. Maybe try wedging a flat screw driver and lifting the clip if it will work that way.
The Service Manual gives no specifics about disconnecting the harnesses.
Also, I'm not sure what you mean by dials on the amp, but I doubt there are any on there given the photos I've seen of it.

I've pulled mine off before, was a bit tricky but not too difficult. There are no dials on it however. What are you trying to do? Rockford Fosgate are pretty helpful but they won't tell you much since they claim it to be proprietary Suzuki information.
