Sudden loss of engine power

So my 2010 Kizashi with approximately 135000 miles has developed a new issue. It will suddenly loss power almost like a limp mode but the car will get up to about 50 miles an hour but no more. If I restart the car the problem goes away and all is well ( very intermittent ) my trusted mechanic says theres nothing wrong with the car ,its not throwing any codes and he can't recreate the issue. does anyone have any idea of what could cause this type of issue?

This is a tricky one. I think you’re getting an intermittent situation with your stability control. It is seeing some thing like a momentary open circuit for the all wheel drive system if yours is all wheel drive. Or a speed sensor on one of the wheels not Reading 100%, but just not throwing a code for the ABS . You may have to find someone that can scan the all wheel drive data looking at the air temp sensor in the rear differential and seeing if the temp is believable. The codes for the all wheel drive system erase after the ignition is shut off. Another possibility is a cvt’s primary pulley it is starting to fail. The next time you have these symptoms try this to see if it changes the situation. Do not shut the car off, but hold down the stability control disengage switch down for 5 seconds till it lights up and see if that changes anything.
