Kizashi Club

As we all know, the number of characters displayed on the Kizashi display is very minimal. On my 2010, you can see the remainder of a song title by holding down the "Disp" key for a few seconds.

However, while checking out a 2011 Kizashi today while getting mine serviced, I noticed the display would automatically scroll the song title a few times before remaining static.

I asked the dealer if he knew if I could get a software upgrade or possibly of some way to activate that setting through some type of service menu, etc.. He said they are the way they are from the factory and that was most likely a 2011 upgrade.

Can anyone confirm on deny his claim? Does anyone out there with a 2010 have this capability on there unit? thanks.

That would be a very nice feature I hope they can bring that to the 2010.

I am sure it is present in the 2011, but bringing it back to the 2010's is close to impossible. The radio is NOT on any serial bus, so making a "reflash" would require taking the part out, opening it and reflash it. That is, if the radio has flash ROM and can be reprogrammed.

That's really unfortunate. In this day and age it's surprising they it's not on a bus.
