CVT AWD @6500rpm

Hi,

a few days ago while accelerating onto a highway under full throttle, I noticed the rpm went as high as 6500. This lasted a few (<10) seconds and then they went to 6000 as should be the max for the CVT version. During the trip, I never saw this again (always capped at 6000rpm).

Did anyone else notice this? When does this happen?

Regards,
Klement

I have seen it hold at 6800 before. No apparent reason, except it was thoroughly floored....

Note to sell....avoid pre-owned Kizashis from the VT area

Seriously, I enjoy reading how you enjoy driving the pizz out of the car.

I don't see anything wrong about going the full throttle way assuming the engine etc. is properly warmed up... You can't really hope to drive in the 160-200km/h speed range @2000rpm ;)

I'm only asking because I didn't see 6500 rpm before and its not supposed to be allowed according to the manual.

One thing I've noticed too is that while in manual mode in 4th gear at 40-50mph slowing down to around 20mph THEN accelerating back up it does the downshift like I'm in D. It also depends on how much throttle I am applying.
