I have an XM portable that I continue to use in the other car, boat and for listening on a plane. Paying $600 plus another subscription price is not what I want to do to have XM. The problem is, in this otherwise well thought out car there is not aux in for the 3.5mm jack.

Looking for some options. I looked around, I assume there is no simple non-powered adapter plug to go from the 3.5mm to the USB input. The other thing I found was a bluetooth converter for the 3.5mm out, does the car take that bluetooth signal? Continuing to have to charge the battery is a bit of a pain, I could plug it into the otherwise useless USB jack, but having to run that extra set of wires is not ideal. The other bad option is an FM modulator, which I really do not want to use.

Is there another option? Anybody else come up with a solution?

I bought a 3.5mm to bluetooth adapter for $22 off E-bay. It should work, but will let you know in about 2 weeks or so. I have a Samsung Nexus/Pioneer Inno that will fit nicely in the top compartment of the center console. Should only need to run the antenna wires up there. 12V for the adapter and XM should be able to be run up from the 12V socket in the bottom compartment. I think I can use one of my old cell phone chargers to charge the Bluetooth adapter, since they have USB std outputs.

I dislike the lack of aux in, but with bluetooth in and the adapter it is possible to work around this oversight. The big downside is these adapters all need juice to run and only last 4-5 hours before needing a charge.

thanks for the heads up you'll have to let us know what your results are. I might check with our local dealer to see if there is some kind of work around.

No luck with the adapter meant for bluetooth headphones. Any other ideas?

No, I don't think there is any possibility that adapter will work.

I'll try to figure something out, but you might be sort of screwed. The only way I think this will work is if suzuki provides something to do it. Another hope is to search for aux to ipod format USB connector, but I don't think such a thing currently exists.

That is too bad, it would seem to simple too just have an aux in as well. Moto, are you on the Suzuki facebook site as well? Maybe you can ask them what to do. Seems like a big oversight on Suzuki's part to only allow Ipods to connect direct. What audio out devices have bluetooth interfaces, I have never seen one.

I was wondering... I was looking on Ebay and ran across an USB to AUX cable... there are several for all different types of radios, but not sure if something like this would truly work, I do not have an Ipod but a Zune... Not everyone has an Ipod Suzuki!!! Anyone try something like this?!? or do you think it is just a scam?

Cabling is not the answer, the format is completely different. I found an Apple aux to USB cable, no dice. I got my money back. Wal-mart is good for something.
