I am doing a little forward planning. As my Kisashi is a little over 3 years I am thinking of replacing with a Optima battery. It appears that the 8020-164 is the correct one. Has anyone replaced their battery with this? Basically does it fit? Don't want to mess with one to big...

8020-164 is the one I just popped in there. It would take a bigger one, the Optima was smaller in every dimension than the factory battery.

I just cross checked the part numbers and that's a Red Top 35 - the same as I linked to earlier. PS: They come with a spacer to make them the same height as the original battery , but you don't need to use it.

Here's where I got mine, $141 with free shipping: http://www.streetsideauto.com/b/optima/ ... l-146-cid/ Don't know anything else about them, just came up as the best price as I was searching, and they shipped a 50 lb battery from Kansas City to Washington DC for nothing!

From what I have seen locally (210) that is a great deal. Will purchase from them...

By the way in replacing the battery I must assume all the electronics will reset. Anything I need to know b4 doing this? In the past I have just let the shop replace batteries but at this price I think I will do it myself... Also what about those 9 volt memory keepers that plugs into the power port? Waste of money?

I'd be weary of using Optima batteries now. I know the older Optimas were good but they've gone downhill in the recent years. They don't last and they have the highest return and warranty rate from what people in the industry have told me...

I heard that years ago too. And I still bought them and they're still working. :? I know they've changed hands a few times, but I think their core product design is still the same, and is working just as well.
