So I finally replaced the rear shocks and bump stoppers. Turns out mechanic did replace the old bump stoppers with the redesigned ones and the shocks STILL went bad after a year and a half!! I'm bracing myself to accept the fact that this will be a common reoccurrence just like the headlights. Only the drivers side rear shock went bad. The rear passenger was still in good shape.

So KYB sells replacement bump stoppers which look to be a perfect match for the redesigned bumpstoppers but at half the price! You can purchase them through RockAuto...wish they had them in stock before I purchased the overpriced ones from monster parts!!
