I have a 2010 Kizashi. So, my Service Engine light came on and the cruiz control quit working. The code reader i have wont work on suzuki. So I stopped by advance and had them scan it. They said it was either a vacum leak or gas cap loose.
Does anyone have any idea if this is acurate? Or possible things to check?

What error code did they pull up at Advance? Tighten the gas cap, unhook the battery overnight, see if the check engine light returns the next day.

Cool, that'll help so you aren't chasing down a mystery source.

90% chance it's the fuel cap loose. Strange that the cruise control stopped working.
I would not disconnect the battery, too much stuff in memory. Tighten the gas cap and drive normally. Most error codes clear after three "trips" without an error. Trip can have different meanings, usually cold start to completely warmed up.

Check all your fuses. Daughter's 1 year old 2016 RAV4 CEL light came on and the back-up camera stopped working at the exact same time upon starting the car recently. Blown fuse for back-up camera.

Nice! Good to know--thank you for sharing! I've seen people fill up with the car on before and I always wondered what type of issues that might cause.Phil wrote:Ive found that it was the gas cap. I had put gas in with engine running. And when service engine light is on it shuts off cruz control for safety. Thanks for the help guys.
