Ive replaced many flex sections by cutting out the old and welding in the new. I now have found a flex that is stainless steel and Im using them now to make it a longer lasting repair. I keep them in stock. Even using the stainless, the total job is less than $150 . Enter "cheap fix 08 flex " into the search and see the info you need .

Welcome raspinner55 !
Whoever "they" are they're criminals, go somewhere else. A muffler shop should be able to hand fabricate the entire exhaust system under $1000.
