USB isn't working.

Hey all, I recently purchased a 2011 Kizashi in the 6 speed manual version. Love the car, best thing ive ever owned.
Tried to use the USB connection for some music for the first time today only to realise the USB doesn't appear to work. When I plug my phone in it doesn't say it's charging or that it has a USB connection and even a regular USB stick instead of a phone doesn't work either.
My question is how hard is it to replace that connector and can I do It Myself?
Thanks,
Lockie

If I remember right, the USB port only works for older Apple phones or players or with a Thumb drive loaded with MP3's. I never tried any Apple stuff. I did load a thumb drive with MP3's and it worked. Later I burned the MP3's to a CD and used the USB port to charge my android phone. I rarely listen to the CD anymore since I got a Bluetooth/FM converter and stream music via my LG V20 phone using the RadioDroid app.

I agree about the Kizashi. I have a 2010 with the 6 speed manual for 8 years now and enjoy it more each year.

My car doesn't appear to have Bluetooth. Also the USB port won't even charge my devices. I feel like its just broken. Do you know how difficult it is to install Bluetooth in it? Any advice would be helpful. We often go on long car trips and like to listen to audio books or spotify

This tutorial may help you although it's for a different issue regarding the USB port. Make sure the USB port isn't disconnected or the pins inside the port aren't damaged.
