Has anybody found any other work around for the steer wheel lock problem? Thanks.

Don't know what you mean by "other". A couple of us replaced the lock module, I think I paid $240 for it. Installed it myself, but it was a bit of a pain, steering column needs to be dropped.

You can disconnect the door switch while it is unlocked and then it will never try to lock again. Dome light and warning chimes won't work anymore, so that's not a great solution, but it's quick and easy.

Disconnecting the switch for the driver's side door should stop the problem absolutely. Here's a post that carefully explains how to do it:
