What is this?

I don't know if this is on both sides, but I've never seen this on a car before. It appears to be some sort of knuckle linking the Swing Arm to the Frame. But it's not a stabiliser link. I can't find it in any of the service manuals I have looked at, and none of the parts companies seem to have one for sale. UK car btw, there was only ever one model here. The CVT 4WD model. Edit.
