The remanufactured front brake calipers for the Kizashi can be hard to find and expensive. Sometimes all that it would take to save your caliper is a new dust boot on the piston. This part is available and easy to change. Almost all front brake calipers require the piston removal to replace a torn boot but that’s not how it is on the Kizashi. Just pry out the torn one, inspect for rust on the piston . If none you can clean up with compressed air , give your sealing area with a dab of synthetic brake grease to promote a good seal and tap in new boot. If rust has already set in, then you will have to pump piston out using the cars hydraulic brake system is best. Just have someone watch while you pump the brake pedal. Clean rust off of piston with a wire wheel on a bench grinder if you have access to one and inspect for excessive pitting , some can be allowed but pit can’t be wider than piston seal thickness . Any rust in caliper bore can be cleaned off emory cloth or wire wheel on a drill . Put a little of this brake grease on side of piston to ease reinstalling piston . Note : All rubber parts used in the automotive brake systems require a special grease. Synthetic braking system grease . Never use axle grease or anti seize. It will destroy all rubber brake parts . Here in the states we are told that OE part has been discontinued. The Carlson brand is excellent and cheap. Less than $5 us.

I've heard that the calipers themselves are the same ones that are on some Honda Civics. Can anyone verify that?

Update: Rockauto sells the same front calipers for both the Kizashi and Nissan Rogue. Powder-coated red pair for $80.

Megazip.net is an online parts source that sells OE parts for Japanese cars and sources them directly from Japan. Given many of the US-based Suzuki parts online retailers have started to die out, Megazip is now a favored site for many, including those in other countries. While it's great to find locally-sourced parts that are compatible with Kizashis and other Suzukis, I think Megazip.net will likely be a last-standing OE parts source for many in the US and Canada down the line.
