Ok, I have the Camry parts and am looking to have them welded in this week.

Now here is an important question. I have been told that welding this could blow my ECU and all my electronics, So that would not be cool at all!

So I have been seeking info on how to protect the ECU and other electrical components. So a few questions here before I Engage in this:

1. For those who did this technique what did you do to protect your electronics or was it not an issue?
2. I want to know which electronics I should seek to disconnect. I know where one major one is and all the fuse box in the the engine. Not sure where the Air bag controls are and if there is anything else I should look to disconnect. I am going totally remove the module that is in the engine compartment next to the fuse box. that is easy. It's other unknown things that have me concerned.

Im quite sure you can find many precautions by people that probably dont weld much. We weld quite often. You need a good ground from the welder connected at or near your weld work, thats it. If you clamped the ground on the exhaust or body and then welded on the suspension, you could be asking for trouble. .

Well, we got it done. I bought two of the Camry parts from the E Bay link that you sent me, I had a friend at church help me cut and weld it in. Man, did it work. SPOT ON THE MONEY with a little play either way to adjust in the future if needed.

Thanks again,

I really like this car, very smooth. Great mileage and for me to buy a Toyota, Honda or any car in it's class, condition, mileage and features was nearly double what I paid for this. Getting this wheel issue fixed is pretty big. When I bought it I noticed the deal had put on two new tires on the back, I thought, 'cool'. Well after I drove if 15K I notice the rear tires we toast on the inside thread and this thread help me to understand why and not only why but what to do about it! It has been God send!. I just could not afford to replace rear tires every 12 to 15K!
