Anyone know if the Kizashi has a cabin air filter, and if so, where it is located.
On-line specs on some of the car shopping web-sites made mention of it and also refer to it as an 'air conditioning filter'. I got to thinking about it because everytime I turn the clmate control on 'Auto' the system always switches to outside air for the cabin.
Our SX4 has one, so I assume that the flagship car would also have one. I checked the manual and found nothing. Checked the partial service manual here on the forum and found nothing.
It's too dark out when I get home at night to be poking around in a black interior looking for it.

I'm pretty sure it does, but I'm not exactly sure where. In my past couple of care they were under the glove box.
I think I missed the connection on switching to outside air and the Auto button, though.

Just made me think that w/ all the outside air coming in all the time it's going to get dirty quick (amish horse and buggy residue if you know what I mean).
The wife's SX4 filter was unbelievable when I changed it.

I was wondering about the filter too! The wife smokes and I was hoping the filter would be sucking that crap up...

Haha Ron, that makes sense. When I originally read it I read it more as "it must switch to the outside air because it has an air filter" which didn't make sense to me because I hope it's filtering either way! I am 99% sure that it has one though.

That's where it is in the SX4, but this glove box is far more substantial and appears more difficult to remove from what I can't see. I hope it's not a major disassemble to change it out like a co-worker's impreza sport. What a process that was

Found in the Owner's Manual page 5-9:
Your air conditioner is equipped with air filters. Clean or replace them as specified in the "Maintenance Schedule" in the "INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE" section. Have this job done by your SUZUKI dealer as the lower glove box must be lowered for this job.
Appears it's a little bit of a project (nice...much like that Subaru I helped a co-worker with) to be done at 30k mile increments. Not often enough in my opinion based on how our SX4's filter looked after only about 12k miles. I'm going to dig into this further to see where exactly this thing is, behind or below the glove box.
If anyone has access to the service manual section covering this procedure, please post up.

Thanks to 'jbarrel's' download thread, I now know the location of the cabin filter and how to remove the glove box to get at it! Not as bad as I thought it might end up being. This information really should be in the owner's maintenance manual supplied with the vehicle.

Glove box is very simple to remove. It just pops off the hinges, then unhook the assist cord on the upper right corner. IIRC, no screws to remove.
