Random engine mount with nothing attached

Hey everyone! Hoping someone has an idea for me. I purchased a 2011 Suzuki Kizashi in decent condition for a great price as a first car for my youngest step daughter. We have a large family, small budget, and I want each of the kids to respect and work for what they have. When they turn 16 we give them a small budget, help them find a car, and I then help them rebuild that car with me. Great learning experience for them, and good bonding.

I digress though...

I'm working on this car with my step daughter and going through it pretty thoroughly as we get ready to fix the main issue, a leaking transfer case seal. While redoing the intake gaskets however, I happened to look down and notice what appears to be a square motor mount with a big bolt in it next to the tcase on the k frame that goes to nothing and appears to have nothing around it where a mount bracket could go.

I haven't removed anything from here and cannot find anything matching in the service manual.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

Hello, it's not an engine mount. It is a subframe damper according to Megazip's site and I don't know it's purpose, but it's there in my car too and I never check it!

Awesome! Thank you so much! I wondered if that was the case but was concerned I was missing something. I appreciate the reply.

Just pulled the transfer case to do the seals. Now to find a service manual for it. The things I do for my kids haha.

Thanks again!

The service manual is uploaded on this site. I can't tell you exactly where anymore but do a search and you might find it on this forum.

Thank you both!! That helped a ton! My daughter is very excited as we are closing in on getting it back in shape to drive.
