What if you were to lose your Kizashi?

Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

Mine will be paid off this year, I'll hold it for another year to save up some cash and then get something else. The car is great but not great enough to cover for the lack of support in parts and service.

The question posed here is a good one, as I'm not sure what else out there combines the Kizashi's sportiness, practicality, and uniqueness. Probably a 3-series or E-class diesel.

It was a half serious reply, but we're talking different markets with different options and pricing. Those would be the closest we can get to the Skoda in NA.

The A3 is available as a wagon here. Dunno about other markets

The only problem (well apart from price) is that isn't a wagon! How are you supposed to fit anything in the back of it? It's a hatchback. Nothing like the Golf wagon or Octavia wagon. Manual trans Audi's are virtually non existent in the local range too. I've just been on the local site and it doesn't even give you an option for selecting a transmission type. I guess that means DSG or nothing?

I was considering an Outback (as mentioned in another post) but don't think I could live with the "ponderous" handling.

I don't know how common they are where you come from, but the A3 is extremely common in the UK. It's a well made car, and the 2ltr diesel is economical and fast. The trouble is the car has no character. It's a box with wheels. For the same money there are cars so much more fun. It's actually built on the platform as a golf, but the Golf looks better. In fact, I think the new Kia Ceed looks better than both, has a 7 year warranty, drives as well and costs less. The fact is though, non of these cars are nearly as nice as the Kizi

If it would be today or in the next year I would go to the USA (I am in Canada obviously) and buy the biggest version with a manual transmission. If it would be in more than a year, I would probably buy a TSX, a G35 or a WRX/Impreza (if they look good...this year's model look ugly)

If I totaled mine today, I would look for another one. No question. I still could not get the value of the Kizzy in anything else. A quick check shows that a 2010 Acura TL is still over 26 grand.

Yeah, North Americans don't have much of a choice when it comes to diesel + wagon + manual. I can only think of one car that offers all of the above.

However, even Canada is different and has cars Americans don't get. Import laws are also more laxed and I've heard of Canadians getting R34 GT-Rs from Japan.
When I visited Canada, I saw a Mitsubishi Delica and was excited about seeing it. I've only seen them in Japan until that point.

Where in Canada did you go?

Vancouver is swarming with Delicas. They're especially popular with those that build furniture out of reclaimed wood and old pallets while raising chickens in their tiny backyards in the city.

I also saw my first R34 GTR the other day

Haven't thought about it much because I'm happy with the Kiz, but probably a Subaru 4x4 with a manual trans. I'm kind of limited in choices here in the USA because I like a manual transmission. I've read that in Europe manual trans vehicles outnumber automatics.
