Decided to install a dash cam. Did some research and the G4W-CB was highly recommended, but wont fit discretely behind the Kiz's rear view mirror. So I settled on the A118/B40. Fits nicely behind the RV mirror. The supplied USB cable was long enough to run it across the headliner, down the A pillar, under the dash to the 12V in the center console. I'll upload some sample videos from it tonight.
I did drill a notch for the cable so it wasn't pinched between the trim pieces.
Nice. I got mine a while back and think they are a worthwhile investment. While I like my dash camera for what it is, the feature I appreciate quite a bit is the GPS-enabled aspect with the speed, location, and routing data. This data can be pulled into viewers like the Registrator Viewer where you can watch the dash cam footage simultaneously while the route is plotted on a map because of the GPS data. It makes for awesome demonstrative evidence in court.

I route mine in the crease of the A-pillar, down the side of dash to under the carpet, using an extension cable route it to the center armrest power jack. The arm rest lid has a little indent for this purpose and allows the cable to come through when closed. This freed up the front center console jack which i use for other stuff, also allows me to close the front center console lid.

Is dashcam footage still valuable without GPS?
I would imagine so. It could still be very useful in establishing who is at fault in accidents. The GPS feature is more useful in contesting infractions, IMO.

I didn't even think about routing it under the carpet. That's actually a great idea. I'll see if my cord has the length. I also have mine powered by the armrest power outlet.
I wanted everything out of sight and hidden so. You will most likely need an extension cable, around $10 from local RadioShack when it was still open. I use a mobius, with a mount that it easily slides off if I park in a sketchy neighborhood.
