I often smell it too, especially when the weather is hot. Same here. No leaks. Reservoir is full.

It was the first time I'd smelled it with this one; ditto.

Tried to get the K state inspected yesterday, but it didn't go well:

--both front tires were to (or past) the wear-bars on their inside shoulders
--the right front brake was metal to metal on the inside, and I'd ground the slots off that back rotor face
--the exhaust flex-pipe section was not repairable

I had them put the crappers on the back axle. Still smooth at 115MPH.
I'll be ordering a front set of slotted/drilled BrakePerformance.com rotors and their pads. Again.
I'm setting an appointment at a local muffler shop to weld me in a new section of flex-pipe.

I still like it way too much to trade it......

As I plod along with an insurance monitor and angry drivers cutting it close as they whiz by with orbital velocity, I have to wonder whether the kinetic energy of missed collisions could cause liftoff. Probably.

I sweat similar thoughts, especially as I rocket by folks going literally half my velocity.......

IME running in the 70--90MPH range uses considerably less fuel than when running in the 85--115MPH range.
Just sayin'.

Heavy grinding now from that right front brake; new ones due in 9/12, to be replaced 9/14 (along with some inspectable rear tires).

So the lack of brake confidence has slowed me down a wee bit (very wee), last tank Citgo premium 25.4MPG.

9/14/17 new front brakes!

And the Kizashi is now legal again.
Until I drive it, of course 8-)
