What Did You Do With Your Kizashi Today?
Just finished replacing the plugs w/ the same OE NGK Iridiums. $49 to my door including tax from Advanced Auto online (free shipping). 74,649 miles on the originals and looked to be in fine condition. Nice and cold out in the garage, so they came out really easy. We'll see if there's anything noticeable driving, or, different w/ the Avg MPG number next time it comes outta the garage. Also threw the battery tender on it for a couple days. Noticed that damn Optima I put in it is over 4 years old already...time flies.

I have new tires scheduled to get installed tomorrow. The BF Goodrich Sport Comp 2s lasted just over three years and 20k miles. Aside from exceptional traction in the dry, they were pretty horrible - so loud and harsh that it gave my car a few new interior buzzes. But they handled aggressive cornering very well - predictible handling even at the limits of traction.
But now that I save the curvy roads for the bikes, I just want some quiet tires w/ long tread life. I am going with the Altimax RT43 all-seasons. Hopefully it'll bring back the ultra quiet cruising that I loved when I first drove the Kizashi.

It was -9F.

Q: "What did you do with your Kizashi today?"
A: "Why...drove it like a wild banshee of course!"
I truly wish the roads around here were as vacant as they once were, allowing such pleasantries to occur. Last minor snow turned a 40-50 commute into a nearly 2 hour ride home from work on a Friday. And it was that really fun greasy stuff. However, no fun was had.

I have car magazines I've saved from 1964 on......
Years ago, Car & Driver listed Rt 100 in Vermont as one of the ten best roads in the country. I live 7/10s of a mile off Rt 100 between Stowe and Sugarbush ski areas.
It was a decision.
Couple years back wife and I took a Kizashi-vay-cay in Pennsylvania for a week of un-specified destinations, enjoying its back-country roads.
When I lived in DC I'd go out at 1--2AM and race the downtown streets and Beltway.
I know I've matured as a driver, because I haven't bunched up a car for many years (apparently, not from lack of trying
).
Happy New Year to all.

Yeah, my luck blows in that regard. Last time I tried that was a long time ago in bum-frig nowhere Oklahoma outside of Stilwell. Got pulled over by some local-yokle at 2ish in the morning in the literal middle of frigging nowhere.WESHOOT2 wrote:When I lived in DC I'd go out at 1--2AM and race the downtown streets and Beltway.

Those should be good tires for the money. They may be the next set of replacement tires for my Kizashi which currently has 141,700 miles. You should do a tire review on them in a separate thread.Speed_Racer wrote:I have new tires scheduled to get installed tomorrow. Cleaned the sunroof drains. Passenger side drain that goes down the A pillar was slightly clogged. Used weed wacker line and compressed air with the compressor set at 30psi.
Lots of condensation on the inside of the car windows motivated me to do so. But I do live in the Pacific NW where it rains all winter and is 99% humidity.
Did the same on my 2011 Super Duty. Kizashi was much easier to do

First impressions are real good - smooth, quiet, better riding. Not as sharp as the BFGs. I'll wait until i've put some miles and driven in different weather before doing a write up, but so far I'm happy to have my smooth silent ride back.Triggerhappy wrote: Those should be good tires for the money.
