100,000 Miles with my 2010 Kizashi

Just turned 100,000 miles with no major or minor problems!
Just oil changes, tires & filters. Did take to dealer for pulley upgrade. Updated shock mounts myself and placed spider screen over vent hose. Still original brakes shocks and battery.

Dang....seriously, original battery AND rear shocks? How'd you get so lucky?

The shocks are good but I'm going to replace the battery soon. It starts the car just fine but at night when I stop with my brake lights on I notice the headlights get slightly dim. I notice this does nut happen with my Toyota. So now I'm worried that that 9 year old battery is stressing the alternator. A worry I caught after watching Scotty Kilmer on YouTube.

Aren't you in Michigan? I'm also surprised about the original battery and shocks.

Whenever I did not drive the Kiz for awhile, usually in winter, I put a PowerMinder battery charger on. It is supposed to pulse the battery to remove sulfation. Did it help or not I can't say. I do know I used the BatteryMiner charger on a dead battery that had been sitting on the garage floor for months for grins. I was saving it for a core. I put the BatteryMinder on it for a month and the battery was good again. I used that battery in a Toyota for over a year. Since the experience with the BatteryMinder I found a deal for two PowerPulse units and put one on my Kiz this February. Time will tell if the PowerPulse units do anything, but this 9 year old battery is still going to be used in my tractor.

A tender, pulse type device even better, on a lead-acid battery is def the reason it has lasted as long as it has. I throw a Battery Tender on my K's Optima through the winter when I'm not driving it. Switching it around to all the batteries in the garages throughout winter. Tractor, Samurai when I still had it, SX4 occasionally on long weekends when it's really frigid, and then park it on the Kizashi's. Ever since we've been keeping the forklifts at work on them (many, many years now), the batteries in those things are lasting years longer as they do more cranking, starting, and idling then they do actually running at speed to properly recharge themselves.
