Gas mileage running 89 hovers in the 28+ range.

But I gotta get them rear sway bar bushings replaced to pass state inspection........... :facepalm:

Your state looks at sway bar bushings? You really don't even need "sway bars" for a roadworthy passenger car. Heck, some makes, sway bars are an option on higher trims where lower models are sans roll/sway bars.

Today my 89-octane-Gulf-fueled Kizashi chimed its low fuel light at 429.7 miles.

That's alotta miles........

That's some good range. I recall getting about that once when I drove from DC to Ithaca, NY by keeping the speeds moderate and staying mostly on freeways and highways.
Here in California, we drive a lot faster on the freeways if traffic conditions allow so it's hard to get that excellent fuel economy unless it's a conscious effort to keep speeds lower and drive slower than the pace of traffic.

Keeping my Interstate cruise speed below 70 keeps me netting 29+ MPG; last tank half Gulf 89 octane and 3.56 gallons of Mobil 87 returned 29.6; stoked.
