An update on the 2010 Kizashi with the cracked engines block. The customer was able to finally pick up the car from the dealership after three months. She brought it directly over to my shop for me to inspect. Yes it had a brand new warrantied engine block by Suzuki along with the brand new water pump, thermostat, and radiator cap that she was required to buy. I looked over the vehicle and had three nuts missing on the front motor mount and the check engine light on for the downstream O2 sensor heater circuit along with a few other minor things. I explained to her that the heater circuit in the O2 was a filament just like a lightbulb that eventually gets hard and brittle after much use and is easily broken by vibration and even though the dealership may have finished it off just by unbolting exhaust . They shouldn’t be held responsible for 177,000 mile O2 sensor. During the long stay at the dealership the alternator decided to freeze up and the dealership actually paid for a used alternator and replaced it free of charge for her.

i found a second 2010 kizashi with a cracked engine block. This one has 174,000 miles on it and its cracked on the front side of the block at the bottom of the headbolt reach. This customer had bought it brand new from dealer here in Erie pa that is still a Suzuki parts and service today. I towed it up to them.

So you're saying if we are patient we may all get free engines eventually?

Two out of how many 2010s that you see? I guess that's not horrible.

If I were to guess how many 2010s I’ve seen it would probably be 150. Both of these engine blocks that cracked waited until after 170,000 miles. The second one the customer lives right around the corner from me and had bought it brand new I had rebuilt the transmission about three years ago I think anyway her nephew changed the water pump after noticing a coolant leak from somewhere and guessed it was the water pump. He put a Gates water pump on it and it leaked right out of the water pump weep hole right away. I sold him an Aisin water pump but he still had a leak. I found the leak to be a cracked engine block across the front and towed it to the dealer. Since then the story took an awful turn. Suzuki rejected that one and I think the dealer messed up the claim basically it’s back at my shop and I’m fighting with Suzuki and the dealer now.

Nothing. Mine is sitting in the garage on a jack stands until I get the upper support/shock mount replaced. Truck is in shop, so I've been driving a 2021 Chevy malibu rental. I prefer my Kizashi over the 2021 Chevy malibu!!!! Reminds me why I bought the Kiz back in 2011. It fits me like a glove.
