Stoplight Drag Racing With My Kizashi

I've found better acceleration by a steady press on the throttle rather than mashing it when in automatic. Since it's drive by wire, there's not a direct connection between what you do with the pedal and the actual throttle position.

I agree with the above. If I mash it down the car just bogs down and doesn't feel right. After not having my car for awhile I had to retrain myself all over again.

Wasn't quite a stoplight drag, but I sure stopped a Volvo S80 from passing me in a merge lane (Nobody was behind me, they could have easily just got over). 3rd gear is good for pulling.

1/10th of a mile? That's like 500 feet. :lol:

Still, a win is a win, especially over some of the people that can be behind the wheel of those marques.

One thing I would caution about this type of racing though is to watch that intersection for last second cross traffic. A good friend of ours missed getting nailed in the side because he waited for the car in the lane next to him--which was totaled in less than a second. :o
