What Did You Do With Your Kizashi Today?
Yep, that's how I found out ours were on.bootymac wrote:And they only work when the rear defroster is on!KuroNekko wrote:I also did some research. I forgot that yesterday I re-discovered our cvt transfer case leaking. It's a small leak from the drain plug, but it's definitely there. I saw it before but didn't have time to look into it, but this time I did. Seems that you're supposed to use thread sealant (there was a Suzuki part number specified in the fsm) whenever removing and replacing the plugs--my guess is that whoever did previously didn't use the thread sealant.

It was a busy weekend for the Kizashi.
I fixed the flex pipe's mesh cover by attaching a hose clamp to keep it in place. While under the car, I noticed that I had an oil leak from the oil filter so I tightened that up too. Last oil change, I used the filter wrench to tighten it instead of my hands for the first, and now the last, time. As hard as my hands can get it has always worked to prevent leaks but never over-tightened a filter.
I also finally got around to the upgrades on the headlights. Put in new PIAA LED position bulbs that are brighter. I also finally installed my Osram Rallye H7 bulbs in the high beams along with heavy duty harnesses for them. I also installed capacitor harnesses for the HID low beams. Lastly, I polished the headlights to remove some UV hazing damage on the RH headlight.
The result of all the work was well worth it. The Osram Rallyes are incredibly bright and work very well as long-throw high beams. They are by far the brightest halogens I've ever experienced.
The capacitors also seem to provide more stable power to the HID bulbs. The output appeared brighter than normal, but the headlight polishing may have aided that as well. The UV damage removal was very successful and I'll be doing a short write-up on it for those who are also getting this sort of hazing on their headlights.
Now if I can ever get the time to wash and wax the car...

I spent about 2 hours going over the car with Touch up paint for the new stone chips and using scratch remover to help cover and repair.. GEEZ.. I hate winter .. all the stones on the road aka salt and cinders.. after all of the repairs then a good polish to make it shine again.. to bad we are going to get a little bit of snow tonight.. touch up paint ready to go again after the storm.
So I drove with my Car today and I realized that I need to do some modifications to my wheels, so I looked for Kizashi wheels and found this on Gumtree - http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/regents- ... 1102641150 , now I'm thinking to buy it, bridgestone looks good on it, but I think Hankook will also be a good fit, saw one here - https://www.tyroola.com.au/tyre/hankook/

I was hearing a clunk every time I was going over a bump for the past month or two. I was advised by my previous Suzuki dealership that it was the rear stabilizer bar bushings in most cases. I ordered the right parts ($22 Canadian) and the problem was in fact the bushings. Cost me $65 of labour so $90 Canadian total. I am currently at 60 000 km/37 miles.
So far, I changed the original Dunlop tires, the rear rotors, the rear/front brakes and the rear stabilizer bushings. No bad at all!! Very satisfied.

Yeah I know. I thought it was pre-matured too, but at the same time I work 5 days a week/49 weeks a year and there are about 15 (30 back and forth) stops and go or lights between home and work (6 km/12 km back and forth)

Azumi is coming up on 29K miles, so I figured I'd take her to go check out the local Auto Zone for air filters (both intake and cabin). Come to find out the Auto Zone by my house has neither, they wanted $60+ to ship in the Fram air intake filter for me, and they can't even ship in a cabin air filter for the Kizashi anymore. That was a bust, so she just helped me schlep groceries back to my home.
Been poking around the forums for intake info. Took me forever to find a post about how you have to remove the owner's manual box in the glove compartment to get to the cabin air filter. But then I couldn't see how to get the cabin air filter out 'cuz it was dark outside by the time I went to check. I could see 4 little tabs that needed to be popped but I couldn't figure out how to proceed from there.
Oh yeah! And when I was poking around the glove compartment, I noticed that something is wrong with the dome light switch. The dome light doesn't come on when I set the switch to the middle position, and have a door open.
