There really isn't a "transmission problem" in the Kizashi. The problem addressed in this particular thread was with the CVT, but it is far form widespread. The Kizashi uses a JATCO JF011E CVT, which is also used by Chrysler, in the Caliber, Compass, and Patriot. ALso, Nissan uses in the Sentra, Altima, and Rogue. Mitsu uses it in a lot of their JDM offerings. It has shown itself so far to offer good reliability.
The OP in this thread got a bad one, and Suzuki made it right. I am not aware of any others here who have had to replace their CVT's. I am pretty active on the Caliber forums, and there have only been a few failures out of a large number of members.
My little brother is the service manager at a Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge dealer, and he told that they have only replaced a half dozen CVT's since 2007, and they are a very busy shop. They replace a half dozen 41TE's in a MONTH.

I can't decide between 6 SPD or auto, CVT is probbaly better for daily driver car. I know a dealer who is asking 19000 for SE AWD Zero millege. is that a great deal?
is there a major chnage in 2010 and 2011 SE models?

thx

That's a great deal, and you won't be sorry that you bought it! As for the people who complain about 'sluggish' acceleration, let's face it folks: it's a 4 CYL non-turbocharged AWD car: it isn't going to blast away from stoplights like a V8 Mustang, but, for Pete's sake, what you get for the money is pretty terrific. The car is still quicker than a 4 cyl Camry, Fusion or Accord. Let's keep the whole thing in perspective. There is nothing on the market that will combine that much comfort, content and AWD for 19K!

Yep, that's a great price! I paid $18K for my "S", and that included a $1,000 Suzuki owner loyalty bonus, so $19K for an "SE" is a smokin deal.

Called the Dealer, there are asking 19000 plus destination fee, tax, tag, and other fee I am assuming out the door price is 20,000 , there is another dealer asking has 2011 AWD SE in stock no hagging price is 21,000 with fee and 0% interset for 60 months.

WTF kind of a dealer quotes a price without the destination charge? It's not like it's optional to pay it.
Compare out the door prices. If the 2011 is within $1K of a 2010, i would go for the 2011. It will be worth more at trade in time just being a M.Y. newer.
